Summary

Before your laser session, a consultation will determine your skin type and health history. During the session, expect thorough care and guidance, including protective measures and aftercare instructions.

Consultation Session

Prior to your first session, you will be given a consultation. During the consultation, we will determine your skin type, review any medications you have been taking and get a general health history before proceeding with treatment.

Laser Session

Prior to your first session, you will be given a consultation. During the consultation, we will determine your skin type, review any medications you have been taking and get a general health history before proceeding with treatment.

During your session, only areas that are receiving the laser treatment will be exposed. We are always sensitive to your comfort and your peace of mind. We will let you know ahead of time what to expect, and check in with you throughout your session. We ask that you come into your appointment with the treatment area shaved. We also ask that you come in freshly bathed, with no lotions/creams/oils or fragrances of any kind on your skin.

During your hair removal session, your laser technician:

  • Cleanse the area.
  • Gives you protective glasses to wear during the procedure. They also wear protective glasses.
  • Applies an ultrasound gel to your skin.
  • Treats your skin with the laser. You will see short pulses of light. It might feel like a series of small pinches, or some people describe it as the feeling of a rubber band snapping against their skin.-
  • Explains your aftercare instructions and can assist you in booking your next appointment.

Your procedure might take a few minutes (armpits or upper lip are quick treatments) or it could take an hour (full-body) . It depends on the size of the area that is being treated. During your treatment, you might smell smoke or burning hair. This is normal, and is the hair burning from the laser’s heat.
